What's For Dinner Tonight?

With Summer weather right around the corner (or already here in some lucky areas) How about an Appetizer for your next Cook Out?

Here is a simple one you can grill up in no time -
Bacon wrapped Cream Cheese Jalapenos

You will need
12 -Jalapenos peppers
1 -package cream cheese
1 -12 oz package of sliced Bacon (close to room to temp)
Garlic salt to season

Get your Grill nice and hot to start off with...

First you will need to cut off the stems of your jalapenos and slice them in half long ways
Next remove the seeds and vein from the middle, the vein is where much of the heat from the jalapeno is, if you want to eat these without crying, you should scrape the vein out the best you can. I like to use a grapefruit spoon to scrape the insides out...
Left one has the vein intact, the vein has been removed from the right

My grapefruit spoon

Now fill the centers with cream cheese, I spread it in with a butter knife...

Next, remove your slab of bacon slices from the package and cut the strips in half, you can do this all at once, then you will wrap each jalapeno half with a half of strip of bacon, this will work best if your bacon is close to room temperature, it will make it easier to stretch around the jalapeno...

Continue until you all are done wrapping...
Now it is time to place on your hot grill
After placing them all on the grill, sprinkle with garlic salt, turn your heat to low, Close the lid and let cook for about 20-30 minutes, keep an eye on them to make sure the drippings don't catch on fire, but you shouldn't need to turn them over, they should crisp up on both sides. Carefully remove them, avoid squeezing too hard so you don't squeeze all the cream cheese out...and enjoy!
